Quick Help
I dont have any certificates

Your Goal
Before starting a family tree you must decide how for you are willing to go. Is it just a name and a date you are going to be looking for? or are you going to investigate further?, who that person was? what they did? where they lived? if this is the case then there are many different types of computer programs that a suitable for that purpose.

Now should decide what line of the family you are going down (male or female).

Talk to People
There is a good chance that your family tree may have been done before, so it is always best to ask someone if its has been done before. (you don't want to reinvent the wheel). Ask some of the older members of your family for information concerning themselves and other. They may even have some old family storys. However do not take these storys as the truth as these storys, through time, can get distorted and elaborated on, always go back to a reliable source.

Starting with yourself
Ok you have talk to some people and got a lot of information, now its time to get yourself down on paper. Start with your birth and work your way up from there, including baptisam, education, sports events and every else about yourself. Remember if this was to be handed down to one of your children or even grandchildren, then would they know who are?

After writing all your details done then move on the next close member of t your family (mother, father, brother, sister etc).
